As I was making some glue, I though I would share our top 3 most used recipes. I started making my own glue when I taught. Most of these recipes I have used for 10 plus years.

Cornstarch glue is more like school paste than Elmer's glue, but it's strong and sturdy, and it's WAY cheaper and less wasteful than those darned glue sticks that we go through like crazy.
Cornstarch Glue:
Ingredients
Cornstarch
Water
Instructions
1. Stir together one part cornstarch to three parts water. Use a wooden spoon or a fork. Stir continuously--it won't take very long.
2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, but turn it down to medium-low as soon as you feel the mixture start to get thick. It gets thick quick. Remove from heat as soon as it's vaseline like.
3. Place in airtight container and store in fridge.
Corn Syrup Glue was used for the above
Ingredients
3/4 cup water
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1 teaspoon vinegar
2 tablespoons corn starch
3/4 cup cold water
Instructions
1. In a saucepan, stir together the water, corn syrup, and vinegar.
2. Bring mix to a boil
3. In a separate cup, stir the corn starch and cold water to make a smooth mixture.
Slowly stir the corn starch mixture into the boiling corn syrup solution. Return the glue mixture to a boil and continue cooking for 1 minute.
4. Remove the glue from heat and allow it to cool. Store it in a sealed container
No Bake Glue
Ingredients
1/2 cup flour
Water
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Stir water into flour until you get the desired gooey consistency. If it is too thick, add a small amount of water. If it's too thin, add a bit more flour.
2. Mix in a small amount of salt. This helps prevent mold.
3. Store the paste in a sealed container.
